Issac Johnson is a young man living in New York in UV-00282.

How he looks is different from installment to installment. In Ghost House (Redux), Issac is shown with short bright yellow hair, blue eyes, and a pink complexion. He has choppy bangs across his forehead, and a long, square shaped nose. During the adventure, Issac wears a yellow jacket with a red hood and details, jeans, and sneakers. By the second game, Issac's hair is shorter, and he's dyed it a darker black-green color. He has piercings in an ear, and wears a brown trench coat, a red button-up flannel, and a black shirt underneath. A backpack is over one shoulder, presumably full of supplies for diving into Houses.

His boyfriend's longtime friend, Klair Marsh, comes back to their hometown rather suddenly in late 2017 and meets up with the old gang. Later in the night, when said boyfriend stumbles off into the woods alone, Issac and his friends must go after him, triggering the plot of Ghost House.

PERSONALITY

Issac's introduced as somebody who's fairly protective of his friends, as shown by his reaction when Leon Bravo disappears and how he agrees to explore ahead in the Albin House. He's also got a reputation for being a bit of a goofball, though he's careful not to actually push people's buttons - he wants to give the people around him a good time, after all! When at social events, he's the life of the party, and it helps that he's somewhat attractive and he knows it. Issac's a former jock and it shows a lot. He's a social chameleon, though those closest to him know what he's really like, since he feels relaxed enough and safe enough to drop his typical act that he embodies for strangers around him.

He does have some hotheaded moments, though, especially when he's trying to keep his people safe. When he's confronted with things he doesn't understand and can't just talk or fight his way out of it, he gets frustrated, which keeps him from being able to find other solutions to his roadblocks. He gets overwhelmed sometimes as well, and he has troubles telling those around him about his issues - after all, in his head, he's supposed to be looking out for them, not the other way around.

His relationship with Leon has led to a lot of hesitation for him, as he still struggles with internalized homophobia and fears of his family's opinions on the issue. As time goes on, though, especially by the second game, Issac moves past these on his own time, taking the plunge to propose to Leon during their adventures in House hunting. Issac learns to be more relaxed as well, letting his friends take risks to protect him and leaning on them when he needs to.

TIMELINE

Pre-GH I

Issac's born to an unhappy marriage in early 1995 and finds himself smack dab in the middle of a handful of step-siblings, a roster that only continues to expand through his life as his parents divorce by the time he's three. While there's a halfhearted custody battle, he winds up with his father, visiting his mother in the next state over every few weeks. When he's six, his father's already remarried twice, and his mother once. Due to this, he never really feels all too attached to his step-siblings and rotating cast of step-parents.

When he starts attending middle school, he meets Klair, who then introduces him to Leon. Right away Issac's smitten with him, and by freshman year they've already got a semi-official 'thing' going. However, when he tries to tell his dad about his feelings around Leon, his dad doesn't react the best - Issac learns very suddenly to keep any hints of his attraction to men under wraps, and very tightly so. He meets Bonnie Grey through Klair as well in the same month, and mostly spends his high school years fucking around.

After Klair moves away from their town for college, the remaining trio stay close friends, though Issac doesn't really understand Bonnie too much. He picks up a job at the local hardware store while he saves up money to move to a city with Leon, sick of the quiet little life he lives in High Falls.

Post-GH I

The events that follow Ghost House I are done on an assumed "release" ending, the most canon of the endings.

Issac agrees to continue hunting for Houses with his friends, travelling all across the country to pick up cases to investigate for them. He's in contact with Tulip Wells at one point during this time via a case by coincidence, as she's investigating a missing person connected to a House they tackle. Through Tulip, he meets Willa Suaviter as well, and arranges for them to assist the group as well with providing information and supplies.

While he has the least effects of the House on him, he has a lot of trouble watching his friends still affected by the incident. After finally swallowing his anxieties, he proposes to Leon, and he's thrilled when he accepts. After announcing their engagement to their friends, when Bai leaves the team to find the Albin House, Issac is the first one to pursue them.

RELATIONSHIPS

Leon Bravo

The two went to school together growing up, as did most people in their small town. It's a place where everybody knows everybody - Issac does his best to keep his romantic relationship with Leon under wraps, though. He wants Leon to be safe and okay, and he worries that having their romance be public knowledge might lead to great harm.

He marries Leon after the events of Ghost House II.

Klair Marsh

Knowing that they're one of Leon's closest friends, Issac really appreciates what Klair does for everybody in the friend group. He tries to watch out for them in turn, though he doesn't know them as well as the other two members of the group do. He never wants to overstep their boundaries, but he doesn't need to worry anyways, as he knows Klair's pretty capable.

He gets closer to them during their adventures across the country, and finds himself more capable of backing them up as time goes on.

Lucien Bai

After meeting Bai in the House, Issac doesn't trust them initially, though over the course of the story he learns to lean on them. By the final ending, Issac and Bai are shown to have grown very close, and the two enjoy sitting and chatting about whatever topics come to mind for hours on end. He thinks Bai is one of the funniest people ever.

Issac's glad that they have Bai on their side. He doesn't know how they'd do anything without them here.

Bonnie Grey

If it weren't for their mutual connections through Klair and Leon, Issac doesn't think he'd ever have talked to Bonnie in high school. He's a bit nervous around her, to be honest - he doesn't really know how much is too much, so he tries to look out for her overly ambitiously.

He owes her a big favor - he wouldn't have gotten through high school without her notes and guides. And test answers.

Jason Marsh

Issac would pick up a babysitting job here and there like every other teen in a small town would on the same handful of kids. He kind of knew Klair through this connection already before the two had started properly talking in middle school, since he'd babysat for Jason a few times.

The town's going to feel too different without Jason. That's most of why Issac leaves it at the end of Ghost House I.

TRIVIA

Issac's a tank main in Overwatch.

The only sibling he's in touch with after moving out is his younger step-sister.

His middle name is Lawrence.
